Howdy. I'm Jonathan, an existential psychotherapist.

I help men reconnect with who they are and build a life that actually fits.

I work with men who are navigating:

  • Chronic stress, burnout, or carrying too much responsibility
  • Questions of identity, direction, and what they actually want
  • The impact of trauma or unresolved past experiences
  • Anger, irritability, or difficulty regulating emotions
  • Relationship strain, emotional distance, or communication breakdowns
  • Anxiety, low mood, or feeling disconnected from themselves

I work with men who feel worn down, disconnected, or stuck, often after years of carrying responsibility, stress, or trauma on their own. Many of the people I work with are used to pushing through rather than looking inward. As a U.S. Army veteran, I understand that culture firsthand. Over time, this way of living can lead to numbness, anger, or a quiet loss of self. Personal freedom requires taking a position in your own life, and I help clients do that with clarity, grit, and compassion.

Our work centers on self-responsibility and understanding how past experiences shape present struggles. I help clients face what they’ve been avoiding, reconnect with their values, and respond to life with intention.

If you’re ready to stop reacting to life, understand yourself more deeply, and take intentional steps forward, I invite you to reach out. My focus is down-to-earth, principled, and geared toward helping you grow with clarity and resilience.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of therapy do you offer?

I work with adults facing a range of life challenges. My approach is depth-oriented, existential, and tailored to each person’s unique situation. Common areas I support include:

  • Existential concerns – Feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about life’s meaning and purpose.

  • Men’s issues – Navigating identity, masculinity, and purpose in a changing world.

  • Trauma & PTSD – Healing from past experiences that continue to affect your present.

  • Anxiety – Overwhelm, worry, and tension that interfere with daily life.

  • Depression – Low mood, loss of motivation, and emotional numbness.

  • First responders – Coping with high-stress work and the impact of repeated exposure to trauma.

  • High-functioning professionals – Managing stress, burnout, and pressure while maintaining performance.

  • Relationship issues – Challenges in communication, connection, and boundaries (individual therapy only).

  • Spirituality – Exploring meaning, values, and personal belief systems.

  • Stress – Everyday pressures and life demands that feel unmanageable.

  • Veterans – Navigating military experiences, transitions, and their emotional impact.
Where and when do we meet?

I offer in-person services at 4203 Yoakum Blvd, Suite 230, Houston Texas, 77006.

I offer video sessions via a secure telehealth platform to residents of Texas.

In addition to standard weekday availability, I have a range of early morning, early evening, and weekend slots to cater to your busy lifestyle. I can discuss specific time slots available in your free 15 minute consultation call.

How often should I come to therapy?

Most clients start with weekly sessions for the first 6–8 weeks. This helps build consistency, momentum, and a foundation for meaningful progress. After that, we can adjust to biweekly or monthly sessions based on your goals, needs, and what feels sustainable. You always have a say in the pace, and together we’ll find a rhythm that works for your life and your process.

How much does each session cost?

Each 50-minute session is $125.

This reflects my training, experience, and the kind of depth-oriented work I offer. I keep my practice intentionally small so I can show up fully present and prepared.

Can I use my health insurance?

I do not participate in insurance panels, however, I've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits.

Mentaya is perfect if you:

  • Have out-of-network benefits

  • Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

  • Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

  • Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork!

    Here's how it works:

  1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.co/inviteclient/EJyvpi4M9g57xhPWXlTB
  2. I will enter your sessions into the platform.
  3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.
  4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.

It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

Do you offer reduced-fee sessions?

Yes—but they are limited.

I partner with Open Path Psychotherapy Collective and reserve a small number of slots each week at $50–$70 per 50-minute session.

Open Path is a nonprofit organization that connects uninsured or underinsured individuals with affordable therapy.

To access Open Path rates, clients pay a one-time $65 lifetime membership fee directly to Open Path (not to me). After that, sessions remain in the reduced-fee range as long as you’re working with an Open Path therapist.

You can check my current Open Path availability here.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. I understand that emergencies happen, and we can discuss together whether a situation qualifies as a true emergency. I keep a credit card on file to hold appointments and ensure that time reserved for you is respected.
